All Music Guide -- this great site keeps track of which songs singers have sung in...it's great for me since I'll hear a song and say "Isn't that so and so?" and I'll go look it up and sometimes I'm right :) also I like to know which artists are collaborating on projects
Hype Machine -- aggregator of music blogs, allows you to listen to music tracks that various music blogs publish, it also allows you to bookmark favorite songs and also to follow blogs
Lala -- allows you to "upload" your music so that you can play songs that they have in their library wherever you can get internet access. Also allows you to buy music tracks if you want

movies:

The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) -- one of the best sites for movie information on the web
All Movie Guide -- has decent reviews of movies, not as comprehensive as IMDB though.

money/investments:

Finance @ Yahoo -- where I go to keep checking up on my stocks; they have good interactive charts

SecondSpin -- relatively decent prices on used CDs and movies, selection for indie rock and electronica isn't all that great though. best for popular music.
